RAS project

RAS project

The vision system of RAS (Robot Antartico di Superficie, Surface Antartic Robot) was developed in cooperation between the Univ of Parma and the Univ of Pavia (Italy) in 2000-2001. The vehicle locates the tracks of previous vehicles, for leader-follower missions. It was brought to the South Pole (Antartica) to be extensively tested in 2001 during one of the many Italian scientific missions to Antartica.
