System overview

This system identifies vehicles passing through tunnels, overpasses, or closed parking lots (in both directions). With this information it is possible to monitor traffic flow, congestions inside tunnels (and warn oncoming drivers), compute traffic statistics,...

 

The Traffic Analyzer System offers high performace and easy installation. The hardware is composed by a camera and a processing unit, no invasive sensors are required (such as loops). Its general purpose design allows fast customization for different applications.

Possible applications

This product can be intended both as a fixed intallation, providing continuous information and statistics related to traffic flow and as a temporary service. A recording system can be mounted on site and further video analysis will be performed offline.

Here are some available features:

• Detection of heavy traffic or accident inside a tunnel
• Smoke detection inside a tunnel (if placed facing the tunnel entrance)
• Time-based traffic model analysis with vehicle classification (car, truck and motorcycle)
• Real time image broadcast (if a broadband connection is available)
• Real time traffic information on a website or as a timed feed (if a low speed connection is available)
