Active Pedestrian Protection
MANDO
A new-concept for pedestrian detection system is developed with the aim to detect dangerous pedestrians all day long. A laser scanner and a NIR camera are used, together with NIR illumination, to provide a robust and precise detection.

A vehicle prototype is developed in Parma to acquire data and test the algorithms. A replica of this prototype is available in Korea to MANDO to test the same system in their settings.

The project is in collaboration with SL, a Korean company providing the NIR headlights.
